Coffee consumption is not high in Peru (comparing it with consumption in Colombia and Brazil). Only 10% of its coffee in the country. The rest is exported. The three major buyers are The United States, Germany and Belgium. These countries buy 27%, 25% and 10% of all peruvian coffee exports, respectively.

Of the local coffee consumption, 75% is primarily soluble instant coffee. However, the USDA reported in year 2017 that "a roasted, ground drinking coffee culture is taking root".
